Reading time: 2 minutes
The brand new 2015 came with the usual bang yesterday. This made me think about the cost of time and how it goes really quickly without me even realising it. I am making the same observations over and over again each year, but because I am usually too lazy to make a proper new year’s resolutions list, let alone settle down and follow it properly, I still keep on banging about the time and how it goes so quickly without actually trying to do something about it. This time I decided to make my new year’s resolutions public, in order to try and actually achieve them for once, and perhaps stop complaining about the time and turn it from a bitter enemy, into a close friend.
Ok, the boring explanations aside, now let me try to define what I would like to achieve this year in a neat and concise compact list:
- First and foremost, I would like to improve my career by finding a new job, and learning a new programming language. I already started both things in 2014 by looking for a new job for the past 4 months and by slowly picking up on the Python programming language, but I haven’t really had much success last year, so I have to increase my effort and be as twice as dedicated this year.
- Secondly, I would like to further improve my portfolio by building some cool and usable apps. One idea that I had for the past few years was to build an app dedicated to mass-tagging my huge music collection with data taken from Beatport, so I think this is a good starter app that I could attempt to write, once I master enough the Python programming language.
- Last but not least, I would like to get fitter and improve my physique. This could happen in a few ways; by me doing more exercises, attending Jim, cutting down on junk food or a combination of some or all of them.
Well, I think although my new year’s resolutions list for this year is quite short, all three goals are substantial, so instead of procrastinating and endlessly expanding the list with new and realistically unachievable goals, I will keep it short and simple and will get down to work and try to complete at least these resolutions.
Let’s hope that I would be able to achieve my goals. I wish you to be able to achieve yours in 2015, or at least, to start achieving some of them this year. 🙂
Wish you all a prosperous, productive, healthy and happy new 2015!
